We created 40&Fabulous specifically to provide value to our customers and solve problems in their, and our lives.
But we don’t only want to serve our customers, we also want to create a culture where our staff feels valued, appreciated and acknowledged.
And to ensure we deliver on what we have set out, we have set the following values for ourselves:

Integrity at the heart of everything we do
We believe in doing everything with integrity, even if that means we need to admit if we were wrong. We know we won’t be able to do everything right, but we will admit if things go wrong and will do our utmost to get make it right.
We also want to do the right thing and that means treating our staff like they are family. And we put family first.

Community Focused
Central to our business is you, our customer. And we want to allow you choice – choice in what you wear and how you wear it.
For that, we value and ask your opinion and input. We want to encourage your participation and suggestion in what you would like us to produce and take to market. And if something does not work, we can either adapt it, change it or discard it. But you decide.
And to ensure you are central to our us and our decisions, we have created a Facebook group to enable you to easily connect with us (and your fellow 40’ers). You can link with us here.

Quality focused
We want to provide quality products and have strict quality control measures to ensure our products meet the quality standards that we have set. And that is an easy one – if our founder does not want to wear it, it will not make it to you.
We also ensure we don’t “skimp” on fabric at the seams to ensure that our seams does not pull apart.
And when products are sourced, we first do a quality check. And this can be in the form of a physical visit to their facilities to personally inspect the products, a wash and wear test or even a community test (taking some friends and family along to get their opinions and thoughts).

Environmentally focused
As we focus on quality garments, we also want to ensure we use fabrics that lasts, like cotton and linen. This will allow you to wear it for more than one season, thereby reducing your and our impact on the environment.
Not only will you be able to wear it for more than one season due to its durability, you will also be able to build out your wardrobe as our pieces are stylish and will link to our previous and future pieces. We are therefor not in it for the “fashion”, but for style.
We are also against using polyester and will not manufacture any garments using polyester or any sub-standard material.
We also want to take this further by reducing the amount of packaging we use. We therefore use the minimum of packaging, but ensuring your purchase reaches you in its original condition. We also ensure we use environmentally friendly packaging like paper and carton.

Proudly South African
We are proudly South African! And we are proudly Western Cape!
And even if it is not a “usual” company value, it is ours. We want to make use of Western Cape manufacturers and suppliers and will do our utmost to keep on supporting Western Cape products.
But if Eskom does its thing, or we find a super star outside of the Western Cape, we will widen our sourcing, provided of course that they meet our standards and values.
